After earning her degree in Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, Jill went on to become a full-time professional artist.  She splits her time making paintings for retail galleries, and for private/corporate commissions.  Most recently, Jill's work has gained the attention of hospitals and health clinics in the way her paintings can transform a room into calming and/or inspirational space. Jill's original work is now in the permanent collection of over 30 hospital rooms, emergency rooms, clinic offices and healing centers.

Jill's passion is color.  Whether she's painting recognizable subjects, or abstract pieces, the color combinations are her main focus.  Jill believes colors, just like smells, or sounds (as in music) can evoke emotional reactions.  Exploring how we react to color is always Jill's main motivation with each of her pieces.

Jill's paintings are done with acrylic paint, often with oil pastels on top.  At times, she will add other mediums such as pencil, charcoal, and gold leaf.

Each piece is finished with a UV protecting varnish that promises to never yellow or allow colors to fade.  Her work can be hung both framed and unframed. If you prefer the unframed look, the edges of all works are painted, making them ready-to-hang.

Jill's home is Minneapolis, MN. Each winter she takes a working trip to paint on location, which offers her new and exciting inspiration.  In her free time she gardens, and volunteers with several animal rescues as a pet foster.
